Hi there humans on the other side of the screen,
firstly: thank you so so much to everyone who has sent kind words after I shared that my mum passed away suddenly this summer. It really means so much.
I am back home now and returning to a sense of grounding & routine and am also riding, in a small way, the back to school wave. I have two very beautiful web design projects booked for autumn and can book one more before I am going into my annual winter retreat from mid December to mid January. At uni I am taking a course on art & life before 1800 this year, exploring devotional and communal ways of being creative. In my garden I am harvesting my first ever apples, who turned out really well. It’s not a life just goes on vibe, but a life is a great mystery and humans know nothing, yet we keep tending to what is beautiful as best as we can vibe if you know what I mean?
On that note, I do miss group work - when I closed the Livelihood Community after 4.5 years in 2023 I intended for a shorter break, but I ended up needing a bit more time to feel ready for something new. What I, and many members, appreciated the most about it were the honest conversations we had about being a person on the internet, needing to make money and wanting to be creative with integrity. With that in mind I am offering another donation based workshop on Money, Shame & Integrity on October 20th - you can sign up here. Expect some gentle guidance, a few exercises and space to talk and ask questions. We’ll be raising money for the Middle Eastern Children’s Alliance in Gaza and the Sudanese American Physicians Association. Feel free to invite friends!
I know the transition into autumn can be a tough time for many, so I wanted to share a few books I think folks might enjoy here. May we all find comfort in the return to colder months!
Phoebe’s Diary by Phoebe Wahl- an almost true teenage journal: love every page, especially the illustrated ones. A great and gentle read to reflect on growing up, body image & sexuality.
Grief and adjustment to change by Avigail Abarbanel: A short, simple and beautiful guide with great reminders on how we can take care of our brains
The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing: meant to read this forever, but kind of always felt a bit intimidated. I am approaching it slowly and it feels like a hopeful read that helps me reflect on my mum’s generation.
I also have a bunch of new podcast episodes for you:
Embodiment, integrity & business joy with Nadia of Everyday Writes - a gorgeous, honest chat with a dear friend who has found a way to work that is aligned and embodied
Trusting your business intuition with Uma Girish - a wonderful chat about what it means to make decisions from a place of clarity & self-trust
Feeling uncertain or overwhelmed? Try the two list exercise! - I re-recorded this as its been one of the most popular episodes ever
The wild edge of sorry // grief after sudden death - a heartfelt conversation with the wonderful Narinder Bazen about loosing my mum
Staying creative with a messy brain - what’s on my mind, wanted to share
I think that’s all from me for now. Spark Sessions will return on November 3rd <3
Thank you for being here!
Love,
Yarrow

Oh Yarrow, I did not see the message about your mom dying suddenly. I am so, so sorry. I’ll reach out this week. If you’d ever like to talk about her, and cry or just be, I’m happy to listen. 💗💗💗
Love to see you gently ease your way back into work and life 💜 We missed you. Welcome back, dear one.
