Hey there on the other side of the screen,
thanks for being here. I love you! I love this work and I am so grateful I get to write newsletters.
This one is special because I have a new business to announce, one that sort of emerged from Making & Mending, my creative side magic that has been around since 2015 and that has seen many smaller iterations of itself before this bigger one was ready. These last few months I have taken myself through the process that I share with many of my clients - building something with heart from scratch while prioritising creativity, accessibility and kindness to self and others.
I pondered different business models, various channels of building community, made many mood boards such as this one, looked to the stars and wrote in my journal by candle light many evenings. What has really helped me to make something happen for myself that feels expansive, joyous and abundant is not giving a fuck. And I think loosing my mum has made that possible.
Grief has been my teacher since 2020 and I’m really feeling drawn to share what I am learning in a bigger way. In a way that makes space for sadness, but that also is an opening, a Glimmer Portal if you will. Today is both the new moon in taurus and international grieving in public day, so without further ado…
Here it is! You can check it out at GlimmerPortal.com
I am a very visual person and I love making mind maps, so I wanted to share the one I made about my new offerings as well:
Fun, huh? I am pumped in ways I haven’t been in a while. There are currently three new ways to work with me:
1:1 Grief Companionship - a sweet three month container with fortnightly sessions on Zoom, lots of listening and even more creative guidance & ritual ideas
Custom made grief quilts made in my little home studio for your comfort & remembrance
My new course Grief Glimmers - it’s currently on pre-sale for GBP 44 before it comes out on June 11th
Soon I shall also update my shop with some new handmade magic.
For a little bit I have been pondering a Youtube channel to share movement practices for grief, but I have decided to stick with what I know & love best - podcasting. I think there is actually something really cool in sharing movement practices in audio form, less space to worry about what it looks like and more emphasis on how it feels!
To make space for this new chapter and to shift the focus on the authentic joy and deepening that can come from good grief, Making & Mending is also getting a makeover:
And to celebrate this launch, I have published not one but three new episodes for you today:
A beautiful interview with Lynn on grief & shifting energies
A movement ritual to reflect on grief & the body that you can do in your own time
Love this new stuff? I would so so appreciate a review on Apple podcasts or Spotify or better yet, share your favorite episode with a friend!
Also, if you have any questions or there is something you’d like me to cover on the podcast (or my other business one!), please send me a little voice note through Speakpipe, I promise its super easy to do.
And finally, we have the next free Spark session coming up on May 3rd and I would love to see you there, all info below.
In my next newsletter I will announce a series of summer fundraiser workshops, so keep your eyes peeled!
Lots of love and thank you so much for reading,
Yarrow
Our next free Spark sessions is on Sunday the 3rd of May from 8-9pm UK time (that’s 12-1pm PT or 15-16pm ET & here is a timezone converter).
The format will always be the same:
A warm welcome & a moment of grounding
A chat check in with everyone
Quiet time to work with the Spark session workbook, which includes journaling prompts, reflections & useful tools to help you set yourself up for the month ahead - choose your own adventure (you’ll get it on the call)
Intention setting & goodbyes
Hi! I'm Yarrow,
a web designer, artist &Â writer living on the East coast of Scotland.Â
I offer creative classes, host podcasts, create eco-friendly websites and help people build sustainable livelihoods.Â
Thank you so much for following along and dreaming with me.Â
Love,
Yarrow
Woohoo we love to see it! Yarrow I absolutely love the way your mind works and following your grieving journey through your podcast has been so nourishing and awe-inspiring. I am very excited for you to offer this to the world and can't wait to tell all my fellow grievers, haha.
This is such a beautiful and sacred evolution of your life and work, Yarrow. As someone who has walked through the fires of loss and transformation I have welcomed Sister Grief as a companion who walks beside me every day. Grief is such a constant—as we love and let go.
I’m working on something to help explain how our Human Design chart lets us know where our grief triggers are and how we can best support ourselves through them.
How can I support you on this blessed journey?
